Head Coach & Owner
I’ve always had a passion for sports and fitness since I was in my early teens. Through friends, I was introduced to CrossFit in early 2008. Instantly, I was hooked. Previously I had spent the bulk of my time in the gym, always improving but finding myself slightly yearning for more variety in my workout. Once I started CrossFit I found I was able to push my fitness to a new level, something I hadn’t been able to achieve with my regular workout routine at the gym. My personal belief is that I was able to hit this new level of fitness because of the people and community around me during my introduction to CrossFit. I quickly became immersed in the culture and CrossFit community. As I became more and more educated, I began to help coach friends and family.
My real passion is helping my students find that spark inside them that gets them fired up. My goal with each student is to harness what drives them to make major changes in their lives and improve their personal health and fitness. This is why I decided to start CrossFit Stasis. It’s been a great journey so far, and I hope you’ll join me and the rest of the Stasis Strength and Conditioning community!
Born and raised in Victoria, I grew up playing a variety of sports. My primary focus quickly turned to lacrosse (box and field), which I played for 15 years. Having not played competitively since 2012, I started going a bit stir crazy not having a designated sport. In the summer of 2013, I attended my first class at CrossFit Stasis and became hooked after my first WOD (which left me flat on my back).
I have always strived for a higher level of fitness, mostly doing my own thing by going to the gym and running regularly. However, I would often become bored being in that routine, hit a plateau, and I regularly found myself wanting something different. CrossFit has given me the variety in training that I have been craving for a long time. The CrossFit definition is “constantly varied, functional movements performed at high intensity”, and it does not disappoint. My fitness level has soared to heights I never that I could reach, and I’m still growing and improving every day.
CrossFit has had such a positive impact on my life. The CrossFit community is welcoming to all individuals, from any background or fitness level. The positive and encouraging environment at Stasis Strength and Conditioning made the decision for me to become a Coach easy.
As a Coach at Stasis, it is my goal to help you make steps towards achieving your health and fitness goals. By dedicating yourself fully to your nutrition and training, your goals are well within reach.
As a kid growing up in Victoria, I didn’t play many sports and was not huge into fitness. It wasn’t until I had my two kids that I decided to make fitness a priority. I started running and found that I really enjoyed it. Wanting to work on my strength, I began going to boot camps but I quickly realized that I needed something to take me to the next level.
That’s when I found Stasis Strength and Conditioning. Although I felt intimidated at first, the community support from the members gave me the confidence to continue. The more classes, I attended the more I fell in love. After a year and a half I decided to get my level one so that I can encourage others to get out and enjoy fitness. I’m a mother of two and I want to show my kids how important it is to set a good example by staying fit and helping others achieve their goals.
When I’m not at the gym I like to hike, camp and enjoy the outdoors with my family. I’ve tested myself by competing in Tough Mudder three times and did the Kusam Klimb last year and intend to do it again this year.
Sport has always been something I enjoy, so much so that I can’t describe myself without it. It’s helped me grow and learn throughout my life. CrossFit started as a way for me to workout like the athletes did in Nike commercials. I wanted that push, that drive, that workout.
In 2012, back home in Saskatoon, I did my first WOD and have not looked back since. CrossFit has given me much more than a workout; it has given me confidence, community, laughs, tears, smiles, bruises, cuts, friendships and old man strength (which I never thought could be possible without working on a farm).
I look forward to continuing the welcoming, fun atmosphere I experienced myself when I first joined Stasis Strength and Conditioning. The people and community are what keep me coming into the gym. Stasis is a great family and I am extremely thankful to be a part of it!
